This was our first destination wedding, and all I can say is MORE PLEASE!!! We felt so honored to be able to photograph this wedding for my big brother and my beautiful sister-in-law!

Last weekend we were able to hang out with an amazing couple.

The reception was beautiful, and filled with such love & happiness!

I love summer backyard receptions!

For most of the reception, the weather held out beautifully. Though there was a little bit where it rained and the cake needed some protection, and everyone had to get cozy under the patio.

Those are the moments that really create memories!

The weather ended very nice and we were able to finish the evening with this shot-

My clients are family, friends, neighbors. If they are none of those, then they are friends of friends... which means that they are a friend of mine! My clients are also awesome. Why do you ask? Because even when I take weeks to get them their images, they are so patient and understanding! The past couple of weeks was no exception... I was having some MAJOR technical issues and lets just say that for a little bit there, I thought that all of my files were gone! THANK GOODNESS my backup system was working. I had never had to use it before!

So, here's to the amazing people that are in my life, whether it be for years, or just for the time of our session.

As hard as I try and because I am still learning, sometimes it can be difficult to get the perfect exposure in camera and I need some help during processing. This picture below is the perfect example of getting the opposite exposure. The background is overexposed while the subject is underexposed.

And for all of my friends out there that want to know the technical part of my processing, this is what I did to fix this mess-up.

I shoot all of my sessions completely in raw files, then I use Lightroom 3 for 100% of my processing. I used to use actions in photoshop... not anymore. I rarely even open photoshop on my computer. Anyway, in Lightroom I fixed the exposure by using the brush tool, and then I softened the skin and brightend the eyes, added a warmer white balance and sharpened the overall picture.

As I mentioned previously, we are still trying to find that special "niche" for photographing newborns. I think that we got just a little closer with this session! These were taken at this little guy's home. I think that he & mom were MUCH more comfortable in their own familiar surroundings, with easy access to every little lovie and blankie at arms reach! I also feel that by doing newborn sessions in your own home, it adds a different aspect, and personality to your pictures.

We are back from our 10 day vacation/road trip! Loved the break, but I am now back to lots of catch-up work. All I can say is that this girl is amazing, she even performed (30 weeks pregnant) recently in Salt Lake at a dance concert!
